we are supposedly travelling northwards on wednesday to visit family for a few days, but the weather forecast looks a bit daunting. nevertheless, i have put the roofbox on my car and we will stick with the plan until we think it would be foolish to continue. normally, we would go in the bigger car, but mine is 4-wheel-drive and so will be better in the snow.

m’s parents left earlier today. they were planning to stay until tomorrow, but again, the weather forecast has scuppered the plans.

we have had a very quiet, family christmas, just the five of us. i think the biggest success was my sims agents for the wii. the kids haven’t been off it.

today, we watched coraline. we tried it in 3d, but i think we spent so much time thinking about the 3d, we were missing the plot, so we switched to the 2d version.

in-laws due tomorrow, then on wednesday, we go to my brother’s and mum’s for a couple of days.

hooray. whilst quite entertaining when there are lots of acts, the closer to the end, and the more the conclusion is ‘foregone’, the more dull it becomes.

i have updated, upgraded, uploaded.

i moved this site to a shiny new server, with heaps more bandwidth. the old site (and domain) will officially be decomissioned at the end of the month. i will point the domain here for the time being, but it will disappear, once it expires.

it’s m’s birthday pretty soon.

saturday was spent helping a chum with his drama school, taking photos for his website. it was a busy day, but fun to do. sunday, we made lego things and watched the rain.

this week i have about 20 hours of video footage to go through and edit into 3 different shows. a minor challenge.

other news:

• g and i went to a and e’s school this afternoon to watch a’s school leaving show (which was, honestly, really good). g did the vid and i took snaps.
• my mum has swine flu but seems to be better now. e had it last week, and was ok after 3 days.
• my new study/office/studio/garageconversion has developed a moist, wet-plaster smell.
• i have sent music to an old friend.

it’s been ages.

when we had the garage conversion done a couple of months ago, the builders cracked one of the windows. after much to-ing and fro-ing with the window company [they sent us one which wasn't right first of all], i have finally replaced it, so the room is now officially finished.

we had a very successful shoot on thursday at the royal festival hall in london. carmen, the model, was perfect. the styling was just right [thanks to me], and the results are fantastic. i now have to whittle the 500-or-so shots down to about a dozen for the client to select from.

we put the christmas tree up yesterday, a bit early for us, but as i am going away for a few days [to sunny florida, yay!], we thought we’d make the most of the time i am here.

m and i are going out tonight to the hilton for a christmas do, and staying over. my mum is babysitting.

edit: it seems that the builders didn’t crack the window, it cracked itself. the new one has done the same thing.

we have had a houseful of children this weekend. 7 in total, and they have now all gone home. i took some pictures of the youngest one, [and the second eldest one too]. the house now seems much bigger.

we had a great time in london last weekend, nice hotel [although the room was a bit small], nice food, good shopping, crap weather. we bought pressies, mah jong, an lbn for m, and two moleskine books from liberty, amongst other things.

i have been messing about with the shots i took a couple of weeks ago, and i think that it was probably one of the best shoots so far.

talking of shoots, i am going to florida again for a work photoshoot in a couple of weeks.
